Description
Our market-leading hot end: All metal design, British engineering, high-temperature performance. Customise your V6 to your 3D printer and add new features to take your 3D printing to the next level.
The E3D V6 hot end: smaller, simpler, more powerful
The E3D V6 is our market-leading hot end. If you want to learn more about the design process, read the blog posts!
01. Print the widest possible range of materials
Thanks to our all-metal design, you can reliably print high-temperature materials. E3D has added additional functions for soft and flexible filaments. This opens up a multitude of new possibilities for your printer.
02. High-temperature performance
With the included thermistor, the V6 can easily reach 285 ° C. By exchanging a thermistor for a thermocouple (additional electronics may be required) or PT100, you can reach over 400 ° C. In this way, you can not only print materials with extremely high temperatures such as polycarbonate and nylons, but also avoid hot-end melting errors associated with PTFE designs. Further information on the maximum temperature recommendation can be found on the documentation page.
03. Compact
We focused on removing as much bulk as possible from the E3D V6 hotend. This means a total length of only 62 mm and a small volume in the X / Y dimension!
04. Easy to use
Our new thermistor cartridge is simply inserted and secured with a single screw. We use high-temperature glass tubing to also insulate the thermistor wires. This makes installing or removing the thermistor a quick and clean process compared to previous methods that involve cumbersome glueing.
05. High-quality printing
We have maintained our sharp thermal transition, which provides the high print quality that E3D HotEnds users expect. A sharp thermal break allows better control of filament output, so you can start and stop faster while extruding, and make retract more effective. This means sharper, more accurate prints that create less stringing.
06. Adaptable
The V6 is a fully integrated part of the E3D ecosystem. Our range of nozzles and blocks gives you more options for deciding how you want to print. Choose from a variety of filament diameters and materials to take your print to the next level and upgrade to ultra-high-temperature printing!

Save yourself a hassle and use 40W heater
Rated with 2 out of 5 stars.
The hotend itself performs very well, but the included 30W heater cartridge is somewhat not good enough or low quality. I had issues with clogging wondering what the heck is causing it. I even got this replaced by 3djake for a new unit - guess what - jamming again! The problem is the heater. Since I changed to 40W cheap heater - I have no issues at all. This should be addressed to the manufacturer.

Yes but it does require a suitable mount. You can find these on Thingiverse or Myminifactory and the Ender 3 versions are also suitable for the Ender 3 Pro as their x-axis assembly is the same.
