Product information & technical details
Description
Founded in 2016, Phrozen began research to become one of the leading manufacturers in the field of 3D printing. Since the successful start with LCD 3D printers, which is known as the Phrozen Shuffle product line, they are now starting a new generation of LCD 3D printers - the Sonic Mini series. With a 4K 6.1 inch monochrome LCD, the 3D printer leaves most of the competition behind in terms of resolution, precision and speed.
4K 6.1 inch monochrome LCD
The Sonic Mini 4K is one of the first entry-level 3D printers to have a specially developed 4K 6.1 inch monochrome LCD display. With this new technology, the Sonic Mini 4K creates incredibly high details of 35 microns and very high printing speeds, so that it only requires 1-2 seconds of exposure time per layer- compared to conventional LCD 3D printers with 7-8 seconds per layer.
The monochrome LCD is also thermally stable and has a much longer service life than conventional LCD displays.
In addition, thanks to the larger LCD display, the Sonic Mini 4K also has a larger installation space of 134 x 75 x 130 mm.
ParaLED module
Unlike conventional LCD 3D printers, Phrozen Sonic Mini 4K uses a ParaLED module. The Phrozen ParaLED module is a perfect design for monochrome LCDs. It has a more uniform exposure, higher efficiency and better heat dissipation.
Easy use
Unpack the Sonic Mini 4K, attach the resin tank and set the build platform. Within a few minutes, you will be ready for your first 3D print! The Phrozen Sonic Mini 4K is optimised for a quick and easy start into the life of a maker.
Compatibility
The Phrozen Sonic Mini 4K is compatible with most 405 nm LCD, DLP and even SLA UV resins. This 3D printer is extremely flexible and opens up many other interesting applications!

Just getting started
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
I'm new to SLA printing. So far thigs are going well.
If you need a power supply for the UK, this works. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08BJRMQHZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I also found the box is easily turned into a reasonable cover to keep the noise and UV spillage down... But the USB dongle is long. I replaced it with one of these, it works well. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0885RK84Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would recommend the printer and 3dJake as the vendor to the UK.Was this rating helpful? (4) (0)

Excellent Printer
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I’m using my trusty mini 4k for about 2 years now and with exception of 1 mechanical failure which was due to a lack of lubrication, this printer has worked without error. Excellent build quality, robust, reliable,… it was a bit more expensive than its competitors but boy am I glad to have shelled out a couple more bucks for this printer. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Mini 4K
Rated with 2 out of 5 stars.
This printer is OK for really small parts, but if you try to print anything bigger than a matchbox you will find that the printer is flexible and flimsy. Many people are trying to reinforce the Z axis by adding extra rails and stronger plate carriers. I don't think the printer is fit for purpose.

Mini 4k purchase
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I have read many reviews about this printer. I was upgrading from my Anycubic photon. I use this to make jewellery and the results are equal to my models made by a professional printer.

Phrozen Sonic Mini 4K
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I learned how to print on an Anycubic Photon, and it was a great experienced. I pushed that machine to its fullest, and was quite happy with the results. However, as I do a lot of small detail items, I wanted something with better resolution. So after a lot of research, I chose a Phrozen Sonic Mini 4K as my next printer. I have been printing since it arrived and it just blows my Photon away with much more detail. I thought a 4K LCD would be much faster, like 2-3 sec layers but in reality as I use Siraya Tech resins (some hard ones, like Blu and Tenacious) it isn't as fast as I had hoped. Still, the detail is definitely there and I am very happy with the results.
A couple of bad things I should point out. The printer only comes with a Euro plug, and the lead is far too short! Also, the tape on the edge of the LCD is really heavy, so that was replaced by Kapton tape (Phrozen has stated this is allowed as long as you don't mess with the actual LCD). The vat and screws is something I still don't like much. Also, the quality of the FEP that comes with it isn't that great but it does work. Phrozen also provides you with some sand paper for the build plate, but I didn't find this necessary and have not had any problems.
Despite these shortcomings this 3D printer is great for doing miniatures and other small scale items. So if that is what you want to do, then this is the printer for you!
