Description
Recreus PP3D GF is a composite material specially developed for FFF and FGF 3D printing technologies, which consists of polypropylene and glass fibres and thus combines the advantages of both materials. While polypropylene, as a durable thermoplastic, is characterised by high impact strength, good resistance to chemicals and low density, glass fibres score points as a reinforcing material with high tensile and flexural strength.
This superb composite is the result of a collaboration between Recreus and Repsol. The result: optimised strength and durability combined with high mechanical resilience! All in all, the material is characterised by high mechanical strength and flexural strength, good chemical resistance, low density, high wear resistance and excellent resistance to moisture and corrosion. Its extraordinarily good properties make it interesting for countless technical and other industrial applications in the manufacture of machine parts, construction structures or prototypes. The most common areas of application are automotive, mechanical engineering, construction, aerospace, manufacturing of sports equipment, shipbuilding, production of electronic parts, hydraulics, etc.
Compared to other traditional glass fibre polypropylene filaments on the market, the surface of Recreus PP GF is more matt and smooth. The material is also more flexible than PLA or ABS, for example.
Note: Recreus recommends using adhesives for better adhesion on the heatbed as PP GF has low adhesion.

Prints good but there are some caveats
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
Very stiff, does not make living hinges like a plain PP, breaks on bend. Good bed adhesion with the supplied primer. Triggers filament runout sensor periodically, maybe because of the uneven filament diameter which is visually evident. Pretty strong parts, layer cohesion is good: when a part is broken, the break doesn't visually go along the layer line. The surface is pretty ruff on touch, more coarse compared to fiberlogy PA-GF for example.

Recreus PP3D GF printing
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
The PP-GF filament print pretty well for such an advanced material. The accompanied primer does its job, and the first layer sticks very well.
The print settings (which you can find on the manufacturer's website) are an excellent help to start with printing. However, I adapted the generic flex profile (similar temperature parameters for filament loading at Prusa mini+; 240C/50C) and increased the extrusion multiplier (to 1.15). With original settings, I had an under extrusion (keep in mind that the filament is very uneven). Overall, printing the final effect is satisfying.
