Building upon the great feedback received from our 60cm Alu 3BS fuselage, we have decided to extend these improvements to our longer fuselages. We now have 66cm and 74cm AL 3BS fuselages replacing our previous carbon 68 and a 78cm fuselages.

Changing the construction to aluminium allows us to reduce the cross section of the fuselage, and by doing so, to reduce the drag generated by the fuselage. At the same time, we are also increasing the strength, whilst only increasing the weight by 2.5%. Our AL 3BS fuselages all feature a little recess at the rear for the stabilizer to sink into and help improve the hydrodynamics.

They also have big cut-outs where the front wing mount is located, to help lower the weight to a minimum. Sure, the new aluminium fuselages will require a bit more care and will need to be dismantled and washed with fresh water after each use, but we feel that the gain in performance is worth it!

The design enhances rigidity, offering excellent resistance to twisting and bending, which results in a more direct feel, added pop for freestyle tricks, and improved control through turbulence.

Our mast, front wing, and tail connections feature optimized cut-outs to minimize weight and drag, while the footprint connection ensures a precise, grooved fit, reducing wear compared to traditional tuttle connections.

Anodizing ensures durability and corrosion resistance.

56cm Fuselage:

The 56 cm fuselage is designed for advanced riders seeking a responsive and dynamic ride. Its shorter length enhances maneuverability, ideal for tight turns and high-speed maneuvers. This fuselage adds excitement to sessions with quick adjustments and agility. Responsiveness: Increased agility for dynamic performance. 63cm Fuselage:

The 63 cm fuselage offers increased stability and control, making it ideal for larger foils or beginner to advanced riders looking for stability. Its length provides a smoother, more forgiving ride, aiding in learning and progression. This fuselage also maintains stability in larger waves and at higher speeds, offering additional control in challenging conditions. In an effort to maximize the fine-tuning options on your hydrofoil, we offer the fuselage extender. Simply put, the fuselage extender allows you to lengthen the distance between your front and rear wing, leading to enhanced pitch stability. We refer to pitch stability as the sensitivity of your foil fore and aft (up and down).

This extender leads to a more stable ride, drawn out carves, and allows for a slightly slower pumping cadence. The fuselage extender is a unique way to increase pitch stability, without using a larger tail wing (which creates greater drag).

The fuselage extender works effectively with our back wings with shorter fuselage lengths, like the Carve Series. It also provides maximum ease of use for beginner/intermediate riders with our larger tail wings in the Surf and Glide series.

The fuselage extender is compatible with all Lift wings and can be utilized across all foil disciplines.

Extension Length:

The Lift Fuselage Extension extends the length by 3 inches.

OUR TAKE:

The Fuselage Extender has become a shop favorite amongst our Lift riders here at Big Winds.  The Fuselage Extender gives the rider a more stable and controlled feel at all speeds, but especially at higher speeds, when riding bigger waves or in heavy wind. We think the Fuselage Extender really shines on the Carve series of tails from Lift, it allows for a best of both worlds type feel! Giving the rider the stability of the longer Fuse Glide/Surf series of tails while keeping the flowy consistent turns that the Carve offers.
