Micro-Swiss Direct Drive Extruder
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
I had a difficult thin section part to print on my standard CR10S machine and it failed several times despite my best efforts, so, I thought this is a good time to cut my losses and fit the MicroSwiss Extruder. The installation instructions are good (except adjusting the X,Y offsets) and within an hour or so had it installed. I printed the same part, and what astonished me was this problem part printed perfectly on exactly the same Cura settings. Definitely made a difference to the printers ability.
Shame I didn't order it one day later though because I could of saved 10% on the price in the sale. Most annoyingWas this rating helpful? (4) (0)

Worth the price-tag, but only the direct drive.
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
The direct drive it definitely worth the extra money, just be sure to calibrate it correctly and adjust the firmware according to the manual. Even soft TPU (82A) is now printable.
The hotend is ok, but seems to clog sometimes, if your retraction settings are too high. Also the mounting of the hotend with just one tiny headless screw is not ideal. Only get the direct drive without the hotend in my opinion. Was this rating helpful? (3) (0)

Micro-Swiss Direct Drive
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
If you have any type of Ender then get this drive on to it. It fits perfectly although the cabling is in the way a bit so be careful when you start testing because if you get it wrong, oops, something will break. I have been running it for a fair while and it just never hiccups, it is very reliable and very strong and well worth the money.

Not fully tested
Rated with 4 out of 5 stars.
Currently I used it only with PLA.
The filament insertion may be difficult just after the wheels into the PTFE.
I need to open the arm to find the hole.
I used it with a DragonFly hotend.Was this rating helpful? (0) (0)

Massive upgrade in quality of print
Rated with 5 out of 5 stars.
I mainly use ASA filament and this upgrade brings a huge improvement in the quality of the print and brings the standard much closer to my other printer which is a Prusa MK3S.
I rate this as a 99% improvement - total transformation.Was this rating helpful? (0) (0)
No it is not compatible due to the differences on the hotend. But we do have a direct drive conversion that is compatible with the CR-10S Pro/V2 here: https://www.3djake.uk/bondtech/ddx-extruder-for-creality
